Coordinates produce sourcing from farmers and outgrower groups, ensures consistent quality and supply, and serves as SmithField's link between the field and the processing hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise directly with farmers, outgrowers, and farmer cooperatives to coordinate produce collection schedules
- Inspect and verify produce quality and quantity at point of purchase against SmithField’s standards
- Maintain accurate records of supply transactions, farmer payments, and delivery schedules
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with farmer partners
- Conduct field visits to monitor crop conditions and forecast supply volumes
- Coordinate with drivers and logistics for timely transport from farm to processing hub
- Escalate supply chain risks promptly
- Support onboarding of new farmer partnerships
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or HND in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 1–2 years in an agricultural extension, field, or supply chain role
- Good working knowledge of local farming communities and practices
- Valid driver’s license an advantage
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel and work independently in the field
